not a nice girl

school is starting to kick my rear, so i've been attempting to be good. the unfortunate thing about the quarter system is that you practically start behind. students can't get all their books and readers until the end of the first week, effectively putting you behind at least that first week. if you're lucky, you take that first free weekend at school to read every single thing that you missed while you were standing in line to give away all your money for these heavy books by wordy authors. once that's done you can work on actually being prepared for lectures and discussions.

just finished reading for the class i have at three, and it's so confusing. i'll discuss it with you all when i get back from class. maybe then i'll actually have some sort of grasp on it.

yes, jen, i did have lots of sushi. and some of chris' rock fried shrimp and carlos' salad and chris, john and i split an order of mochi. yum. :oD

but enough of that. the weather here was great til maybe yesterday. no santa anita winds and rain here, just wind and clouds. maybe we'll have rain soon. classes look intersting. well, i'm taking molecular genetics with some of my old 5th floor residents, ethology/behavioral ecology (with really cool labs that have a 19:1 girl to guy ratio, and have us traipsing around monarch preserves so that a half drunk "friend of ellwood" can call us disrespectful, climbing up and down steep slopes of a ravine, but i did see more butterflies in one place than i have ever seen before in my life) and religion and western civilization. so far so good. genetics is a bit late for me, so i'm tired during lectures. still trying to find regular times to eat so i don't make myself sick again. not done buying books and such. well, i have one more reader to buy, it wasn't ready the last time i went.

actually had a decent lunch today. met chris at the ucen for sushi. (yup, sushi at school) i got there first so i knitted a little. saw my kp ading, but i don't think he recognized me. maybe he did and just didn't want to say anything. i don't blame him. i'm not a very good ate. most people that read this know that it's been a rough year or so, but i don't think i ever told my ading. he's really nice, but i can be pretty shy, so yeah. and i felt really out of place because it was my first time to participate in kp. charlene told me once to not worry about him, since he had 2 other ates in kp. but still. his sn's still on my buddy list and i read his online journal. i think his other ates are graduating soon so unless he got more this year, i'll be the only one left. i want to get to know him better, and he has yet to introduce me to freebirds nachos. he was talking to amy at romaine's while i sat at the next table. when i got up after eating, amy said hi. i meant to get involved in kp and pcn and stuff, but i don't want to get kicked out of school... they've already tried to get rid of me 2 or 3 times, i'm too close to finishing for them to kick me out now...

wow, it's late. i have class in campbell hall first thing in the morning. i should stop typing and stop watching chris play pso for gamecube. good night!

Long time no update, huh? Well, I've been sorta busy. Lots of present giving and trips to Pasadena. Come home and clean or run errands. Barely had time to hang out with people, something I really wanted to do during this break. Vacation wasn't too bad. Got to spend time with family. Realized that I can't please both sisters at one time -- if one gets what she wants, the other gets upset. Oh well. Secret Santa thing was cool. I got Dan a sweater that he seemed to like, and Jay got me lots of nifty stuff. I got a Midi Bossie in purpleheart (it's a spindle), a pair of happy feet and copies of Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, the 8 Mile soundtrack, and the No Doubt playlist from their San Diego Concert. Other presents include a pretty framed picture of me, Lynn, Tess, and Beth, and a purse from Tess and Beth. Got more CDs, a mini care bear and a MAC palette from Lynn, a wallet from Jillian, a wallet from my aunt, Victoria's Secret lotions, a beaded purse, a shirt and tangerinetherapy from Jet (not from Cowboy Bebop), promises of shopping, money (not much), a gift card to American Eagle Outfitters, my hair done, and the thing I'm using now: a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Not exactly top of the line, but it kicks my old computer's rear in so many things. My current desktop PC has a Pentium II processor and a 12GB hard drive. I've had it since I was a junior in high school, I believe. It still works, surprisingly, after all we've put it through, but I wanted something more up to date and mobile. Went through a lot of BS to get it, and dad almost made me return it (stories I'll save for a later date), but it's mine now... I don't use it to get online, so I'm saving this to post later. I got it before Christmas, but I didn't open it til this morning, because I waited to make sure I was keeping it first.

Spent Christmas eve in National City, Christmas day in Pasadena, New Year's eve and day in Pasadena and was home for pretty much the rest of it. Except picking up my sisters from Pasadena because they stayed longer after Christmas. Got my hair done that Saturday, and if you haven't seen me since then, you should; I like my hair :D . The only reason my sisters didn't just stay straight til New Year's was because Alpha Phi Omega's Induction Ball and Christmas Party was on the 30th. It was pretty fun. Held at Bali Hai, where Chris and I had dinner for his senior prom, I wasn't the only one to bring a significant other: Ben brought Jen and Jet brought Mike. Good food and lots of silly dancing. There was a birthday cake for the December/January birthdays and that was fun except the large amounts of frosting that ended up on my face thanks to Jasmine.

In theory, we leave for school tomorrow morning... So I should pack. I'm feeling kinda lazy though. Well, Jillian's mad at me right now because she wanted help with her essay and whenever she wants help that means we have to tell her what to do. Then when she doesn't listen to our advice, we all get frustrated. Jasmine was playing games on my laptop, she just kinda took over without asking. And Jillian was being difficult again, and she kept getting angry because she wasn't getting attention, since apparently that's all I'm here for: to give both my sisters my undivded attention all the freaking time. How is that even possible?? I even had to take Jillian bowling with me and Lynn and Nold and Christie. She beat me (I bowled a 32 then a 45) and stuff. But she kept whining and telling me she wanted to go and I told her to call Lynn up and ask her, because it was her idea, but Jillian kept saying, Nooooo I don't want to.... You do it. Ew. Oh well. Guess I'll turn this off and go pack or something.
